the manual controls are not hard to come by, several sellers on ebay offer "rebuilt ones"2004 GMC Sierra, manual blue/red HVAC control head. Does anyone know of a rebuilder for these units?
you would probably have to reach out to one of those sellers, cardone does rebuilds on things and probably some other places but you may end up paying a premium for that.Yea, but, want to get the original one rebuilt, not buy a rebuilt unit.

I don't know about general issues. Mine has stiff, sticky, and glitchy buttons.Just curious here....
Is there a proven issue with the HVAC control?
They're not that difficult to disassemble and clean. I had my AUTO one apart, cleaned the buttons and the two temperature pots, and replaced the bulbs (from carradiobulbs.com).

the manual ones usually just get worn over time, the "turn" knob has a copper leg that switches position inside the control to a corresponding copper leg over time they get **** built up and maybe even burnt some, this causes loss of contact and the control then may only operate sporadically. the plastic bits inside also become VERY brittle so if you open one up you have to be very careful.Just curious here....

It's almost 2 months later, but I got a rebuilt one (digital control) from "pro-rebuild" on Ebay back in October 2023:

Installed it and had no issues for a couple weeks, then had the power button stick. Messaged him and he sent a new one out the same day and I got it a couple days later. Sent the old one back, no questions asked. Highly recommend. Still no issues today.
