Hey NoProRobb... Just for ***** and grins I removed my onstar antena and put it in place of my radio antena about 6 months ago. I got TERRIBLE reception with it. I get much better reception with this mod then i did with the onstar one

LOL, who would have guessed, im debating about doing it again, i never drove around with it because it cut so fuzzy when i took it off, i was thikning about giving it another chance and driving it around for a few days to see how it is.

I did this yesterday and it really looks a lot better with it not visable...Another good thing about this Mod is it makes it way easier to get snow off my windshield with no antenna in the way :)

thats the main benifit i noticed that would be better, no trying to deal with the dang antenna while trying to wash or scrape your windshield

Did my antenna delete this morning!

It literally took me 7 minutes, and it looks a million times better! I only lost 2 og my pre-programmed stations, but never really listened too the radio anyhow.

The only thing left to do is snap in the solid panel when it comes! Thanks for all for pointing this out to me!

Can't wait to do more mods!

I wonder how much difference grounding the base to the chassis makes a difference, an also wonder if the mast touching the fender has any negative effects, maybe suspending the mast away from the fender a bit with some rubber grommets would be a good idea? Just throwing some ideas out there :)

mine isnt touching the fender...it rests in the rubber stopped alongside the fender. someone somewhere said they tried grounding it and it made no difference in reception.

Did this over the weekend. Looks good, but I didn't tell the wife, I'm waiting for her to notice and ask me about it.

Haha.. I'm wondering how long it'll be until she notices it. She's the type where she just jumps in, puts the keys in and drives off.
