Just go to Radioshack, buy a couple, and do it. Took me an hour with a copper braid to soak up old solder and then attach them back.

I recently installed LED SMD interior lights and I couldn't imagine the entire interior being LED. Looks like you are almost there :worship:

Let me know if you're ever in NY

Very cool looking!! One question though, Can you still use the dimmer switch to dim the new LED's?

Thanks for the tutorial, this is great!

Is there a way to change the color of the turn signal indicators? Currently they are green, but I was thinking of going with green for my dash colors and want the turn signals to contrast the rest of the dash so that they stand out.

I had assumed that this was a lens color and part of the 'overlay', but I saw a video online of someone who had done this conversion and they had blue turn signals. However I could not find any info about this.

I have a 2004 Tahoe.

You can always wire in a new colored LED as well. If it is an incandescent bulb then you just need the gel sleeve to slide over the bulb.

Yes, the dimmer will still work.

Hey Scotty, do you know how to replace the motors that operate the gauges mines out, if so how much would you charge?

I want to get the LEDs, about how long will it take you? I live in Louisiana right outside Baton Rouge. I could express mail it to you. Shoot me a pm on how to get into contact with you. Thanks

Any advice on replacing the stepper motors that run the gauges? I been trying to find a write up or something on here on doing it, but haven't had any luck.... Also I noticed in the pic of the red LED conversion the trans position indicator is dimmer than the DIC. Mine is the same way. Is there a way to fix that, or is that how they're made?

Of course I did a write up on that. It should be a sticky IMO. Here's the link.

I also have this problem and would like to fix it.. Is this something that can be done?

I have already replaced the bulbs in the cluster so I am experienced at taking it apart.

Instead of plugging the cluster in to use a meter to check polarity just use a 9v battery with the leads off of DMM, i used alligator clips on the end that goes into the DMM, no soldering just get the ones that slide over the tip. Use that to check the polarity of all your LED, Mark them then install one led. Plug it in and see if it works, if it doesnt the LEDd needs to be turned. Now you can use the 9v batteru and touch the original bulbs and if the led lights up then you know which leg is postive and which is negative. I just used the SUPERBRIGHT.com LED neo3-a in the amber color and I hate them, they have hot spots and are really dim going to rip them out asap as soon as I find better ones.
