The finish on my 2015 Tahoe running boards are pretty beat up. It was a 39 month lease vehicle. The running boards show it's neglect, what can I do to fix them ? I tried Mothers Back to black, but it needs something more. Thank you !

If looking to just restore color--a fellow member has used krylon fusion to restore his black step pads, with good results, iirc--his name is @Rocket Man. Hopefully he'll chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I have used this on the black plastic parts on my truck from new. Helps with oxidation but can be slippery

@adventurenali92 isn't there a chemical brothers product you like for this?
Chemical guys have many trim shine/protectant products that are fantastic in non stepping surfaces. Trim+tire gel is my favorite. I use it once in a while on my running board plastics to keep them from drying out. But that’s because I don’t have to step on them to get in and out of the truck. But it does make them pretty slick.

Another member had his fixed side steps coated in rhino liner. Turned out awesome, would take care of your finish problem, provide superior grip, and last forever. If you plan to keep the vehicle a while I’d consider doing that.

A product called Solution Finish should help restore the color.
