I put my ballast in the upper panel above the tail lights (i forgot what its called). its plastic though, so not sure it'll stay up there.

I may change this later to put them below in the bumper below the tail lights.

What temp. looks best for the hid reverse h11's? 6000k or 10000k? I have the 10000k in the front but it's blue-ish.. i don't know if that would be "too blue" for reverse lights? I'm personally thinking about going with the 6000k white.. thoughts?

sits flush with a small gap around the lip but some black rtv around it and it seals up nicely. I've had mine for about 6 months now with no issues and I love it! They are so friggin bright, makes it easy to find at night!

what is black rtv?

I bought some H11 55w 8000K HID bulbs.. will these work? What kind did you use for your reverse lights?

its liquid silicone, its like the stuff used for Windshield, oil pan and stuff like that. Its makes a great seal and keeps moisture out

Me and most others used the 35w HIDs in the reverse lights. They can melt the lights but they would have to be on for atleast 4 minutes. Nobody stays in reverse that long.

I use the 35W ballast for my high beam, low beam, and reverse lights. No it will not melt the housing because the only time it is on is when I am in reverse or if the car is on and I press the 'unlock' on the key fob. Unless you wire in a dedicated switch to it and leave it on for an absorbent amount of time, I don't think you will have issues.

Well just ordered a set of 35w 5000's for back up and 2) sets of 35w 6000's for fogs and headlights. Living in the country this should help backing down the driveway. Maybe I can quit rolling down the windows and finally look out the back window...Lol

I could tell a noticeable difference in my rear cam view at night after the HID reverse light install :Handshake:
