Whats goin on everybody? Im new to the website and 4x4 chevys but not GM products. I just picked up a 2001 Tahoe LT 4x4 and I already love it. Ive only had it a few days but Ive already had it tinted and I debadged the rear. There are a few quirks that Im trying to hammer out though...
My biggest is a head scratcher and maybe someone can help. None of the interior lights will come on. They all have good bulbs, Ive checked the fuses, and tried the dome light override button. The only thing Im thinking could be related to this issue is a viper car alarm installed. It has the LCD remote with lock, unlock and remote start. Also a button labeled "ECT". Now the display is smashed so I cant read it untill I get it replaced. Any insight? Does anyone have a viper installed on their ride? Does it control the interior lights in any way? Wow, sorry so long winded in my first post. Well even if no one can help, I really like the site so far. And last but not least, pics for clicks!

:welcome: Welcome to the forums! Sounds like you have tried just about everything I would have thought of as far as the lights are concerned. I don't know if the alarm would have anything to do with it or not unless they tried to wire it into it to have them activate with the unlock function. I'm sure someone on here will have a better idea as to where to look though.

Good people here, I can tell already! Thanks for the warm welcome. Yeah I did try the button near the lightswitch, no luck there. I havent pulled out the switch to check the wiring and all that. Maybe loose wiring. There are some other wierd seemingly interconnected lighting issues. I plan on really diving headfirst into it tomorrow though. Ill keep yall updated and take some photos of some things under the dash to see if my setup seems similar to yalls. In the meantime, I need some sleep! I work third shift in a pharmacy in a children's hospital and I just worked 94 hours in 8 days while also buying the hoe, getting it tinted, detailing it, and debadgeing it.:boxed: Mods and this site ARE like crack! Had to get my fixx man! LOL

Welcome aboard:cheers: GNs are cool cars, man.
Your lighting issue could be anything simple from a bad switch or wiring, to something worse like a bad bcm. The alarm shouldn't have anything to do with the courtesy circuit unless the installer tied into the circuit for the domelight supervision option. But even then, it shouldn't keep the lights from coming on at all unless it was connected improperly at the bcm and was fried from the very get go.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! My wife's already bitchin about how much Im on here! LOL! Shell get used to it. So heres the update... I woker this morning and literally the first thought through my head was " you *******, theres a second fuse panel under the hood!" So I jumped out of bed, threw on a pair of shorts and popped the hood and sure enough, blown fuse! Scared the hell out of a lady walking her dog when I yelled out " YOU SON OF A BI**H!" I then proceeded to tell her I was calling the fuse an SOB, not her or her boston terrier. Anyway, thanks for the warm reception again. I look forward to getting ideas and inspiration from others here and keeping yall updated on my progress.

And since everyone liked the GN so much heres a couple more pics...

This was the first day I got her out of storage from my inlaws after being discharged from the Marine Corps
