I completely see what you are saying...But since GM went returnless for everyone in 05 to comply with 2004 federal EPA mandates, it wouldn't be a shocker to me if a late 04 flex read as an 05 calibration.

Since neither of us will MOST likely never see every 2004 on the road, i will admit it's just my opinion and conjecture.

Mine is a late 04, built in the last month of the run. What the stick is, is the tuning for it, but I do see where you are coming from.

yup, its inside the tank. i found an awesome write up yesterday actually of a guy who replaced his himself. he didnt have anyone to help him drop the tank so he cut an access panel from the interior and got to it that way, sealed it up, and was good to go. ill see if i cant find that thread.
