New forum member here from NE PA. I purchased an '05 Tahoe Z71 from a good friend of mine a bit over a year ago. At the time it had 236,000 miles on it; now it has 242,000. It's our back-up vehicle, but we also used it on a family (wife and I, plus 3 dogs; now we have 4) vacation last June to Tennessee.

My friend originally bought it for his wife to drive and he really sank some work and money into it to make it more reliable for her to drive. I'll include the list he provided me for work he had done.

Other things I should have added in my intro post are some of my interests. I'm about 16 months from retirement from the Bureau of prisons and also worked for the Florida department of corrections for 10 years previously. I was raised in NEPA, moved to Florida for 15 years, met my wife, and we moved back up here in 2007. We bought almost 72 acres of family property with a small home on it and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Pics say more than words sometimes, so this is me:

We heat our home with wood/coal, my wife and I are generally reclusive, we're born again Christians and attend a small independent Baptist church, and we both enjoy working out and staying in shape. I harvest deer off our property and this year I found out I really enjoy gardening. You can see the results of your labor, unlike working in corrections, where coming home in the same shape you left is a win. The prison I work in is quite violent, and I look forward to being able to try to turn that switch off, or dial it back, after working in violent, extremely negative environments for 30 years.
