Heater hose longevity question

Hey guys. I recently replaced the heater core tees with the metal ones and also replaced the plastic Y down by the water pump with a metal one. But reused the old hoses (cut the connectors off the end and just used the rubber hose) but I’m kind of paranoid about them rupturing so wanted your opinion on hose. Looking at these:

Any options would be great. I’m also ok going to advance or any parts store and getting 5/8 hose too but didn’t know if the “heavy duty” one would be better or not.

YES, you should replace the hoses. The heat and pressure cycles eventually cause them to deteriorate, and if they rupture, you will lose your coolant in les than 60 seconds. Trust me on that.

The OEM hoses typically have a manufacture date stamped on them. OEM hoses have lasted you this long, so you may want to consider getting OEM replacements, if available.

Well I can’t use the oe ones as I’ve removed the oe plastic tees and Y at the water pump. The tees weren’t leaking but I had a radiator bust while towing the other week and got paranoid about them leaking so I replaced them lol

Do what you gotta do, before your truck's hoses do it to you.

I replaced them on my 06 with GM Genuine tee in 2020. The ones on there snapped and almost overheated the engine to the red.

They seem to be holding up well, but will probably upgrade the the metal Dorman version at some point in the future.
