Headlight bulb - H11 vs H13

Greetings All!

I have lost two headlight bulbs in the last couple of years. Now I am considering an LED upgrade for better light and bulb longevity. My searches have turned up several positive reviews of the Sealight bulbs. However, some state using an H11/9005 while others have installed an H13/9008 model. It seems the difference is the number of filaments for use with headlights that have combined low and high beams. So do the H13s work for our vehicles, or should I buy the H11s?

Contact a local parts store or a dealer and see what their computer says for your year/model truck. Once you've locked in the correct part (number helps, as well), then you can explore LED options. Make sure that any LEDs which you purchase are adjustable, so that you can obtain the proper light beam alignment/spread.

I have a 2012 model. Auto parts and online lookup tools say H11, but I found several posts where folks installed an H13. Just trying to figure out if there is any difference or benefit going with the H13 over the H11.

the chevy's do not use a h13

KInda figured that. Just needed a gut check from what my searches turned up. I'll buy the H11 kit. Thanks!

Can you post some before/after pics? I'm not thrilled with my headlamps and was considering an H11 LED swap.
Did you have to adjust anything or was it a like for like bulb swap (from halogen)? Any errors?

But I think I want to go HID's for a better beam pattern.
I'm satisfied with the Auxito's, but a better cutoff would be nice...
And maybe a color temp of 5500K or 5000K, vs 6500K.. One day when I get new housings maybe..

Thanks for the input, everyone. As a follow-up, the Suburban uses an H11 while the Yukon uses the H13 bulb type. I decided on the Sealight X1 bulb kit (link below). I'll post up feedback when I get them installed this weekend.

Almost 30 day update. I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for some sort of increase in viewing distance. However, it's not really any better than the halogen bulbs. The 6000k color maybe adds some clarity, but I can't see any farther down the road than with the halogens. My expectations were probably too high for a simple bulb change. I wasn't expecting HID performance, but I did think they would light up the road ahead a little brighter and a little farther. IMO the only benefit, other than the color, is bulb longevity. Considering the relative difficulty with changing our bulbs, that's a win at least.

HID's work pretty well in the stock housings, just don't put them in the stock fog housings...... because there is not enough air gap inside the little fog housing so they melt the housing.
