Best Factory Compatible Headlamp Bulb (Low Beams)

Greetings All,

I have a 2009 XL and I am looking to improve my headlight bulb performance, preferably without a new housing. I had a 2009 Sierra previously that I ran a Morimoto 35W H11 HID kit on when I got tired of replacing Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. I have not needed to replace the bulbs on my Yukon nearly as often as my Sierra for whatever reason but the light output is pretty mediocre.

What is everyone using these days for headlamp bulbs? 15 years ago the LED replacements were junk and HID was the only way to go as long as you don't mind blinding oncoming traffic. Is there a better plug and play solution nowadays? Or am I better off just continuing to buy quality H11/H13 Halogen bulbs?

If you wanna stick with halogens for Low Beams you can try an H9 Bulb..might require a bit of tab trimming on bulb. For High Beams you can run the Phillips HIR1 9011. I run Phillips Racing Visions in my DD Passat. I do alot of night driving and noticed a decent uptick in output. But they are almost a yearly changeout.

I use GTR Ultra II LEDs for headlights on my 07 Yukon XL Denali. They provide a great amount of light, and they are adjustable, so you can make the perfect light beam pattern. They are pricey, but they have a lifetime warranty.

I'm interested...do they scatter in the halogen housing, meaning annoying to oncoming traffic or is it a more precise beam?

The fact we don't have horizontal adjustments kinda sux, really after a projector housing that doesn't look like a Star Wars Tusken Raider..lol.

The beam is better and more focused than with incandescent bulbs.

hid's shouldn't be blinding anyone if they are then they need to be adjusted better.
if you can find a 10,000+ lumen led that is adjustable, then maybe.......
the more chips on it the better because of the reflector in the housing, you might have to experiment with a couple different designs to see which one you like better.
