Why delete your cat?? The cat (single, not plural) on the 95 is after the y pipe. You can easily do bolt on headers and upgraded Y pipe and keep the cat.

well one of my buddy's has a 95 tahoe and has full exhaust (headers, off-road y-pipe and cat-back) and it sounds pretty damn good, all I found was off-road y-pipes is there one u can get with a high flow cat?

damn straight. lol

i honestly dont think a chip just for running your truck without cats is necessary. You hardly have any engine mods what so ever, spending 150 to 300 bucks on a chip isnt worth it to me. Im sure itll run alot better without cats in the first place.

I do like your mentality about getting a tune, but until you do some serious modding like different heads or holley unit then I advise sticking with your stock tune.

If you are doing complete exhaust WHY not LONG TUBES? Have you even shopped around prices from exhaust shops to get exhuast from the header back?

Are you installing the headers yourself?

All you have to do is supply the necessary components and hav them weld up and install it. Cheapest price I got here in NY was $500 I GUARENTEE it will be alot cheaper wherever you are.

Do it right once, so you'll never have to do it again.

Im thinking about adding that holley kit too, the whole thing with the long tubes is I don't see any off-road y-pipe or reg y-pipe for long tubes only shortys, unless you know of a place? or can a shop just fab the pipe up? and I was looking on summit and jegs....and a few I know go to this auto school down here I usually bring it there, cause they charge 40 bucks an hour for labor and do great work never had a problem and as long as I supply the needed parts they charge me nothing or next to nothing for it so im all set there. Do you have any brands you'd recommend too?

Why do you have your heart set on a Y-Pipe? A race shop I went to who planned out my exhuast said to headers stright back, SINCE there was no room for a X Pipe (Cross Over Pipe) then they recommended me to get this muffler made by DynoMax called the Crossover X. Has an X Pipe built into it. Advised me to get it on my own b/c it would be too much money thru them. I scored the Muffler for &90 shpped ot my front door, If I re-call correctly.

Why an X-Pipe, cross over the gasses so there is equal pressure in the system hence more air flowing out of your exhaust means better HP and MPG.

As far as brands, our options are limited...

They are all good IMO, Pacesetter is the Cheapest, few people say the welds don't hold up, which to me is OK, b/c if I were to get them I would have them re-weld aka re-enforce to elevate the problem. Never got around to it b/c I scored a set of Hookers for $215 shipped to my front door.

A shop isn't going to just a 'fab a pipe' up if you aren't going to run a cat. Y pipes for long tubes exist but look funny and aren't much of a Y really ...

ceramic. I would deff do ceramic if you have the extra couple bucks on hand, if not plan on painting them every other year or so depending where you live.

no problem. umm msd coil and 6a ignition box, volant cold air intake, flexalite electric fans, idk probably some stuff im forgetting..(sitting on the self waiting to be installed vortec heads, different intake manifold to accept the new heads, holley TBI with 90lb injectors)

Right now im welding up the exhaust. doing 2.5" stainless all the way back, thinking of exiting out right before the rear wheels with 3inch stainless tips. i have 2 magnaflow mufflers(SS) and 2 hiflow cats(SS), but the cats will stay off until emission time (shhh) lol
No x or h pipe, well see how it sounds first with it going through the mufflers.
