HD front clip

I found a good deal on a front clip off of an 01, 2500 Silverado HD. Is that the year that will work for my 06 hoe?

Are the fenders different? I was going to try to just grab the hood and grill/bumper.

Fenders are the same.

Is it all a bolt up or do I need frame pieces as well?

hood and grille will bolt right up. bumper cap is taller so youll need to modify the frame horns to fit.

frame horns need to be cut off and welded a 1.5" down if I remember correctly

Yes, everything said above is spot on. Cut the bumper brackets and reweld them 1.5 inches lower, then bolt the bumper back on. You can reuse your existing bumper if you wish, but you do definitely need to use at least the HD upper bumper/plastic cap. Then just swap out the grill and hood and you should be set. Don't need to replace the fenders or any of the lights, all that is the same.
