2016 XL. I see everyone talking about Mobile 1 0w20 or 5w30. Are you guys using Synthetic Oil or Reg?
I used to do my oil change at the dealership till the 36k miles warranty. I'm sure they were using reg oil.
After that I had been doing the oil change myself when the oil life comes on.
I'm at 64k miles and use Mobile 1 Synthetic 0w-20 but I noticed oil consumption between oil changes. 1 quart.
Should I go back to Regular Oil??

No one should go back to dinosaur marrow.
If you notice 1 quart of oil consumption between each oil change,
and you wait for the oil life monitor to go down to 0% before each oil change,
seriously consider changing your oil SOONER, BEFORE 1 quart of oil consumption.

NYC cabdrivers / livery drivers / chauffeurs NEVER let the oil life monitor hit 0%.

If mileage is mostly all highway miles, change oil when the oil life monitor hits 17%.
If mileage is more highway than local, change oil when oil life hits 20%.
If mileage is more local than highway, change oil when oil life hits 25%.
If mileage is mostly all local miles, change oil when oil life hits 33%.

Also, deactivate V4 mode as soon as possible.
Even if the V4 mode lifters never fail, V4 mode itself increases oil consumption.
I know from personal experience:
I got my '12 Yukon XL tuned to INCREASE V4 mode duty cycle.
MpG went up immediately. Oil consumption went up after about 2 years.

Also, tune your ecm to lower the fan-on temp thresholds.
If the motor oil runs cooler, oil consumption will go down.

Do I need the dealership to turn off V4 or DIY project?
Any links on what I need to buy.
Thank for your time.
