We are talking 8 days from now. Its goin the way the owner of the trailer pulls it in the pic. Caddy already has trans cooler on it.

Is your caddy's trans cooler stock? If so it's pretty small. The trans cooler that came out it my 2006 was tiny. I upgraded to a tru cool max unit and it's huge.

I wasn't aware the rams had a stock trans cooler that year. I just know what excessive heat does to transmissions, especially gms. I just dealt with a trans rebuild in the spring and it was hell. Towing is ******* your transmission. An upgraded cooler is defintely a good idea. Anyways just my

Well thanku so much for all of ur advice all. Looks like the current owner... she tows her vette in it all the time with her 1500. No sway or load levelers or even tow mirrors. So im hopin to be able to do as good as HER in my caddy.

Can it tow it? Yes absolutely... is it gonna be fun? Hell no. Your going to be down shifting left and right and struggling up every hill.

I towed a 20 ft enclosed with mine and it sucked on the highway. Just a big wind drag.

Sure the Dodge ram tows that trailer all the time. Good for it, that doesn't change anything about you towing it with yours. Again put a larger trans cooler in yours asap. It takes a whopping 1 hour to install. Your talking a week till you leave.

It is a big whoop. The doge has less power and the same amount of weight as the caddy and she pulls it all the time.

Tell ya what. Just hook up to it and go. Why bother asking our advice if your not going to listen to any of it.

Maybe the one I towed was built better or something. All I know was it was heavy... the weight wasn't the problem though. Around town and city driving had no problem towing the trailer. But on the highway at 75 mph I might as well just left it in 3rd gear. Or slow down to 50 or so going up hills.

Yes I understand your have a 6.0 and I have a 5.3... but I used to have a sierra with the 6.0 and while it towed better, it wasn't that much better...

As for the dodge... I know nothing about it. Have never towed anything with that Era dodge.

Im listening, hence why I thanked everyone... as I figured I would find some tyc towing knowledge here.

Ive towed plenty of trailers amd am familiar with towing, just never with the LOWERED caddy on 22s.

The attitude though... I dont rmember ever askimg for that, but there u are offerimg it for free. In fact I made it clear I appreciated everyones input, but in the end my question was about towing with the truck lowered and with it on 22s and how the air leveling system would be affected and whether it would just being it back up again.

Never about fuel consumption or about the beating the trans wouls take etc.

Depending on the suspension mods done when lowering, it makes for a bumpy ride, especially when towing. The springs they chose play into it, as most drop springs are progressive, meaning its probably going to bottom out if you hit a big enough bump. Try not to load the tongue too heavy, but don't load too heavy in the rear or it'll sway like crazy. I'm sure you know how to center the load. The bigger wheels may add some more weight to get up to speed but nothing major as far as braking performance suffering. If they trailer has electric brakes and you dont flat foot it, you'll be fine. Take it easy on the hills, slow down if you have to, and watch your tranny temp gauge.
I've towed a larger enclosed trailer with my 04 Tahoe, it was loaded pretty heavy and I've got a 2/3 drop w/20's. I felt every damn bump in the road because of my rear springs pretty much bottoming out on everything lol. And it struggled to stay in 4th gear on any sort of incline, but I just slowed down and took it easy. The stock tranny cooler isnt worthless imo...I bet it helps compared to no tranny cooler at all.

Okay just to clear it... you said you have a week to prepare and want me to come install the trans cooler for you since you have no time and wonder why you received a little attitude? Anyways...

As for the adjustable ball, I doubt it will work for you as I'm pretty sure your going to be over the 5k limit of that hitch with the trailer and car. Also look into the capacity of the receiver on your esky. Not sure if yours is stock or not. Do you have a guess as to what the loaded weight will be?

I have no experience towing with a dropped vehicle. But your stock air ride should be able to handle the stock towing capacity. Is all your air ride stuff factory or has it been replaced? I know they are a common failure on these. You might look it over for any leaks or wear spots on the bags. Would suck to go out on a road trip.

I agree... im pretty sure the car alone is 3500 to 3700 lbs. I dont think the ball will work. I do like the adjustable set up. Wonder if I can just pick up one rated higher.

When I had it lowered it recieved a new compressor and we went over the system for leaks at the same time as it seemed the compressor ran longer than the original one. Other than thay its pretty much all factory.

The hitch rating... wouldnt that be the same as the vehicle stats as its a factory tow package reciever?

I sent the trailer owner a message asking what the trailer weighs as Im unsure however I believe it will all fall well under that 8k.

Extra stopping distance...and some trial and error on proper ball mount rise amount. I normally use a 2" rise ball mount, if its a 2-5/16 ball for the trailer (which im pretty sure it will be) I'd suggest something like...
