Hey, I normally hang out in the NBS/GMT-800 section of the board (I have an '04 Suburban 1500) but I am curious about something and not finding the info I need on other sources.

Specifically, am I right in understanding that some time during the GMT-900 years ('07 - '14) the 4wd system on the Tahoe and Suburban was a single-speed T-case only, i.e. no low range, unless you got the "towing" package? Is that right? And if so, is it an AWD system like the Denali and Escalade or is it something different?

I can say that yes, there is a version where there is only a single-speed transfer case. I have one as of right now. As far as I know, it does have a locking rear diff. Also, from what I can understand is isn't an AWD system since that is a different option on the Escalade's and Denali's aside from 4wd.
