I have a 96' GMC Yukon 4x4 that may need a new front Differential soon. I have the GU6 Code in my Glovebox that says I have a 3.42 Ratio rear Axle. But it doesnt give a Code for the Front Axle, they should both be the same Ratio .........correct??
What would I do if I don't have the sticker in my glovebox?
Hate to resurrect a 6 mnth old thread but,my tahoe is in the shop for a rear end rebuild. It's a 2005 Ppv (ex trooper) tahoe,it has the gt4 g80 (3.73).What would be a good all around gear?I'm on the road alot and the 3.73 does Rev the engine a little more ,I rarely tow.How about the 3.42?Maybe 3.23??
Update, found this, posi track and 3.73s, but I have 33s, it is a diesel, so, 4.56 will be bad?Hi, I have this, but no idea what gear I have

Hello - I have a 1995 Tahoe LS 2D 4WD, with a OME gear ratio of 3.73, LT 265/75/16 tires, and I was thinking to change to 33" tires with either LT285/75 or LT255/85. I have 157,200 miles, and the truck runs great. I don't want to lose any power, so any thoughts about a gear ratio change with the larger tires would be appreciated! Thanks
