Looked on ebay. you can get a Fuel Pump for 00-03 Tahoe Yukon for 34.95 Brand new with a Lifetime Warranty and free shipping.
Don’t put a $35 fuel pump in, buy an ACDelco. It’s not a super hard job but you do have to drop the tank and that cheap pump won’t last more than a year or two and leave you stranded. $180 or so for the quality, and do the job once in 150k miles. Lifetime warranty doesn’t mean shit except you get to drop your tank, remove the POS pump, send it to them and wait to see if they honor the warranty. They know people won’t do that, that you need your vehicle up and running. That’s why they offer their “warranty”. They don’t send out the new pump until they get the old one back so you sit for 2 weeks with your fuel tank out of your truck while they dick around.

There IS a benefit to this: you get to drop your gas tank every couple of years to clean off the top and change the pump. Plenty of time to clean it off while awaiting the warranty to be honored. ;)

Believe it or not they sell Hundreds of them. At last count they have sold 2933. I would not even consider buying one but others just want it fixed so they can get back on the road for cheap or selling the truck.

My Delco one rusted out at 150k miles (spewing gas over the tank and onto the ground). While I'm OK with that mileage, that really shouldn't happen...

Nope, there shouldn’t be an area on top of the tank that acts as a lake. And salt shouldn’t be the answer for snow on the road. Glad we don’t have to deal with that in Oregon.

200k+ miles on original pump. I'm confident I probably have double your hours...maybe previous owner drove a lot with fuel low? Limo companies wont care as much as the average joe regarding fuel pump and keeping fuel in the tank.

No, it is an average of 20 mph, not 50. I have 153,000 at 3200 hours. Roughly a 47 mph average, probably pretty typical.
I stand corrected I was doing the math wrong, not unusual for me, lol still it seems to be a run of the mill number for the mileage

Somebody’s math was way wrong there, makes sense though since he said it sat idling for hours at a time.

o'well either way I'm good engine wise since it got a brand new motor at 84k  and both the differentials rebuilt. good thing I took the insurance option.

Get it while you can because they grow up fast and forget about your ass. Except when they need money.

This one sowed his wild oats early but is now back to living his life as a productive member of society, and is much more the mechanic than I. I'm proud of how he's turned around his life and we have some great times together.
