I'm new to the site and have been trying to solve a problem for several months. My original problem related to a whining noise primarily a low speeds, but apparent at higher speeds (50-60 mph). Eventually speeds of 70+ I didn't hear it. It turns out my front differential needed to be replaced. It solved the problem other than a whine at 45-55 mph which the dealer said is my transfer case.
The issue is have now, and only appeared after the front diff replacement, is a vibration and loud humming at speeds greater than 72 mph. It's weird. The vibration and humming are getting worse. I think it's the re-manufactured front diff they installed (Jasper Engine product), but the dealer is insisting that it's the transfer case. Any help?
