When I hit pot holes or rough patches in the road the front doors rattle, almost as if they arent latched tight enough. Its not the pins, Ive replaced them twice. I ordered new striker pins in hopes that they would solve it. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm going to have to add myself to the list haha. Front drivers door makes a noise when I hit bumps, almost like it wants to open. Looking forward to the results too.

Will do! I found out that a little electrical tape around the striker pin seems to work...for about a week...The new zinc coated striker pins come in tomorrow so we will find out...Hector- Ive replaced the hinge pins and and bushings those seemed to help a little.

Well the new pins are in...with very little change...although upon looking at it closer Ive noticed the weather stripping around the door to be very flat and worn out looking. I cant believe I didnt notice or think of it before. I had a slight rattle/squeek at my rear hatch, which turned into a leak. After replacing all the weather stripping the squeek was gone and it closed much tighter. Im off the rest of this week so Im gonna try running the small tube style regular old home window stuff through the gasket around the door. I know it wont last too long but its a shot. I will keep you guys posted.

I had the same problem with mine and I did everything you guys did to no avail- pins & bushings-needed bad - new latch- beat up from sloppy pins.
Then replaced weatherstrip around door jam and the noise went away!
Mine was only noisey when the truck hit kinda of sharp bumps and only on the drivers side- The weatherstripping probably got flattened out because of the misalignment of the door from the pins for soo long!!!!

fyremanpat, i changed out all my weatherstripping in my 4 dr, definitely made a difference in the back doors (as well as fixing a leak there too). got all 6 pcs from late model restoration for $150. had to cut it to fit, but wasn't bad. found that a rubber mallet helps a lot for driving the channel onto the metal lip that it fastens to. have never tried the window sealant thing you were talking about, but it's probably worth a shot.

I got some 3/8" foam weather stripping tonite and kinda rigged it up...and it actually made a huge difference. Door closes tighter and its quieter while driving. tomorrow im gonna try and rig it up a little more reliable.

this is a no brainer but some people just dont know these thing so just in case yal didnt think about it, allot of people think their doors are loose and making noises like the door is moving around (and if you have never heard worn out ball joints) you would say your doors are loose but its usually your ball joints on your front end that are worn out causing a noise that sounds like big parts moving and considering where your driver seat is positioned it sounds like it coming from your doors. turning your torsion bars, getting a lift kit, not greasing your ball joints, or daily driving on rough roads usually causes them to wear out. yal might want to get a mechanic to check your ball joints if you cant seem to fix the door problem. if your ball joints are wearing out your in for an unexpected dent in your wallet. :/
