No, those are the standard Ford Fusion housings/brackets. I haven't even begun to figure out how to mount them in the Denali fogs yet.

That bracket for the fog lights is a pain. I actually installed Hella projector fogs in my 2001 Denali. I made my own little bracket by bending and literally twisting some metal. It worked, but was a pain in the butt. They had a glass lens and one broke. After that, I just went back to oem. I do want to see how this fusion fog retro goes in those assemblies. I just haven't bought them yet because I just don't have the time to do it. If you get it looking good, I'll probably make a set myself!

Yeah, I'm still waiting on my aftermarket junkers to see what I can do with mounting these. Should be interesting. Making some progress on the projectors. They should be ready for mounting by the end of the weekend if all goes right. But, I still have no other parts, so it may be moot.

I'm guessing you still haven't gotten the parts lol

Still can't do what I want with these lights because I need to access the front of the shields and can't for the life of me get the lens off. I'm getting frustrated. Have an idea I'm going to try later, though.

Success....finally. And I still have the other one to do, but hey. Progress is progress. I got the lens off, which gave me access to the shields. Was able to quickly sand off the black paint to metal, so now I'm ready to paint. Here's a few pics of this little assembly:

Inside looking out, with top shield cut out (turn your computer monitor upside down for the correct perspective on this one....lol):

The whole thing taken apart. I have sanded the black paint off the front of the lower shield in preparation for painting:

Now I just have the other one to do. These are more tedious than I was expecting, but hopefully the second one will be easier now that I've had time to play around with the first one. I've totally jacked up the cutoff shield with nicks and whatnot, so I may JB Weld a small, flat piece of flashing to the inside of the shield to give it a perfectly flat edge again.

The upper shield is basically a foreground light blocker. In fact, they are called foreground blockers...lol. It's so your beam is narrow and throws far which is great when it's for a driving light and you're trying to see as far down the road as possible, but with fogs you want the light on the ground right in front of you. Basically it should fill the ground with light from your bumper all the way out to the cutoff with them removed. With them, you get a black spot right in front of your vehicle.

That seemed wordy. Did that clear it up or make it muddier? lol

Thanks Scott, loud and clear, lol. Wondering why they would make them like that since, like you said, the point of fogs is to light up the road right in front.

A sneak-peek at the new color ring/shield and hopefully lenses.

Chauncey gets the credit for inspiring this :Handshake::

Last pic for the night. Projectors are pretty much ready, just need to get some sealant and put them back together. Still haven't gotten the Denali lights or HID bulbs, so it's not even going to be completed this weekend, but I got a lot of the tedium done. This isn't the final product, but imagine the ring around the lens in the pic below. I think it's going to look pretty good:

I'm going to have one light that is basically all of the little mistakes along the way, and one that is more or less mistake free. I chipped one of the lenses on the edge, too. That will be very interesting to see with the HID in because that could completely screw it up.

One reassembled....needs some touchup on the paint. Chipped some off the ring putting it back on. All in all it came out well. Just have the other one to put together. Then I need my actual lights so I can start fitment work.

I got the Denali fogs today. Things, of course, aren't going to fit just right. I'm going to have to think about how to do the retro.

:weld::buffer: Alright, I can squeeze as much of the projector lens as possible through the halo or take the halo out entirely and fill the gap around the projector with something else. My projector is just a touch too big to fit perfectly in the old projector's hole. I think I can pretty easily fab the projectors onto the brackets of the housing, but there's going to be a gap to fill in with something. Taking ideas. Don't really care if I take the halo's out...they're cheapos anyway and would probably die within a few months.

I was thinking some black CF. Buuuuttt...my retrofitting buddy is really good at making LED halos and strips look badass, so I might hit him up for a custom job. Dammit. Nothing is ever simple.....

One ring of "white" LED's for a typical halo, with a switchback-type effect for some unique turn signals??

Gaaahh. Too many ideas....make it stop....

No. My truck is not a Christmas tree. :p

FINALLY got my HID bulbs. I think I'm done with DDM after this, though. Took two weeks to get, not because they took a while to send them, but because they came straight from China. Box was pretty well crushed along the way, too. The plastic bulb protectors did their job...think they are the only reason the bulbs survived the trip. Anyway, I just don't like doing business with China directly, so that's the last time I'll order from DDMtuning. It's been fun.
