Does your aftermarket radio have a video output?

Yes it sure does but it doesn't just work plug and play to an oem secondary screen.

That seems odd Felix  why would it not be plug in play to a secondary screen? Even my buddies cheapo DVD head unit just plugs into a headliner DVD unit.

Because it a factory overhead LCD drop down. I'm guessing your friend went from aftermarket radio to aftermarket secondary screen? I'm going from aftermarket radio to oem secondary screen. The guy that helps me do all my Audio crap tried to do it and said I specifically would need a third party interface to make it work.

Interesting! And you're right. My buddy was going from aftermarket to aftermarket.

Yep I figured that. And if I had an aftermarket overhead secondary screen it'd be hooked up by now... So basically I'm trying to figure out everything I need to get it to work like it did when I had my oem factory nav radio. I also read you need this extra module/interface for the infrared feature so the oem wireless headphones and remote will work too.

I know! He and another friend of his that works at our local audio installer around town tried for a while to get it to work to no avail. Then after some googling I found the PAC GMRVD interface cable made specifically for what I need. But after reading the description I'm confused as to if this works as a standalone or if its mandatory to be used with the PAC OS-3 which I don't have...

I have the OS-4 and have no idea if I can use that in place of the os3 it supposedly requires. Or if its required at all... I read the OS 3 description and it sounds like its exactly what my OS 4 does. Basically I'm confused as to what I need bc I can't find any forum threads about this exact situation.

Just ordered the PAC GMRVD harness for my avalanche. It's the interface needed to use the factory rear drop down LCD monitor with an aftermarket screen. I also ordered the Airaid Jr. 200-796 CAI kit for the Esky. The Esky will finally be getting the much needed BB Tune after the CAI is installed!!!

 After installing my files last night I was amazing at the difference in throttle response compared to what it was pre-tune. I'd say that's the biggest difference for mine which I'm sure you experienced with your Hoe. I'll be interested to hear how it reacts with that 6.2. That's gonna be awesome! I know that Robbie said in Yeti that it was pretty awesome on his 6.2. :)

Well I've had the cai/bb tune on my 08 Tahoe so I know how awesome it is. But that was the 5.3L... It's a whole different beast with the 6.2L. I just drove around for the first time since the airaid jr. Install and that is already way more effective on the 6.2 vs. when I had it on the 5.3 Tahoe.

So is the CAI worth the money? I put my deposit for the Indy in-person tune today.

It's so worth the money. It's worth it for the 6.2L more so bc I "feel" more of a difference.
