Is that mod virtually impossible due to the wiring required to make the power steps work?

No. It's very difficult to wire it in to the factory BCM.

However, with some time and a few relays, this can actually be made to work with the opening and closing of the doors. Just takes the right person. ;)

I would love the setup you got Micah, just not sure of all the parts I'd need. They make an aftermarket slick kit too but I'd rather oem Esky ext parts

I'm sure Robbie could help you out. Hell maybe even give you them for free!

What do you think is missing (aside from roof rack)?

LOL I know I know it's dirty... wanted to get the 1.5" Rear spacers installed and alignment done before I went to town washing and waxing it.. might de-badge sometime this week and then wash and wax...

for now, more pics of the dirty avy! I definitely think it's leveled now though... took measurements yesterday with just the 2.5 front and not the 1.5 rear and now i'm going to take them with both the 2.5/1.5 to see how much it truly changed with the rear lift spacers.

I think it looks better with the avy emblems on there to be quite honest. Get some chrome tow hooks up front while you at it. Its a small mod but it changes the front alot. Needs esky steps or no steps at all.

Really?? I'm torn as someone earlier made a photoshop image of the avy debadged and it looked pretty good:

shitttt you aren't helping my decision any haha. Yea the chrome tow hooks are sick...someone on CL was sellin em for $30 and by the time I contacted him he had sold em.. i was pissed as that is an extremely cheap price for em. As far as steps are concerned, i'm gonna leave them on unless I get a local bite from my CL ad I posted for em. I don't want them in storage rotting away taking up space. I am also debating taking off the air dam/valance but I saw a pic of someone who took them off and it kinda looked like ass as you can tell something is missing there.

I guess this is what makes a vehicle unique but I disagree with everything said here :yucky:

Oh really? What would you do differently? I personally like hearing different people voice their opinions as it helps me decide.

you know what Felix, they are SWB, so I don't think they would work on your Avy. I completely forgot that you had a full length door in the second row.

On another note, since I have these on my vehicle, what I would do is hit a test light on the harness and figure out what is your ground, your positive, and your trigger. We'd just wire that harness into a relay that would send a trigger to the relay when the doors are opened (via a pressure switch). This would in turn active the step and extend them, then retract them when the pressure switch was pressed back down (i.e. the door closing).

Anyone who is good with wiring a relay can easily make this happen, just a matter of finding the guy who wants to take the time and understand how it works. :Handshake:

Maybe just cutting the valance to where it is smaller would be a good compromise rather than removing it?

Hearing people's opinions is good. I was just voicing my opinion that I disagreed with what Ben said :) I'm not a chrome tow hook kinda guy and don't think it really adds anything of substance to the look of the front end. I also think the debadging cleans up the looks so much that I encourage everyone to do it. With that said, though, if everyone modded their rides the same this would be an extremely boring hobby!! :)

How does the chrome tow hooks not add to the front end?
