I have a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL. When you leave the key on and listen to the radio or whatever the battery will drain down rather fast (15 minutes or less) and show you the Battery Service Scroll up or whatever it says exactly (can't remember right now).

I had the battery and the alternator checked at Advanced Auto and they say it's good. However, I was cleaning the car yesterday with the doors open, radio off for about 10 minutes and there was barely enough juice left to start the truck....what's wrong?

while some batteries show good, as soon as you add a load, there isn't enough to fire the truck. Check all battery connections first, and IMHO, replace bettery.
One day it will leave you stranded..

Well 1dopeHoe, I understand that, and have searched the forum. Although, it seems that my problem is not (at least from what I have found) the same as the others covered here...hence the post. The battery does not go dead simply from turning the car off and having some other type of drain, the battery and the alt show good. It just seems as though the battery is rather weak. I checked the TSB with both of my local dealers and neither one will do any modifications about the vehicle without charging me (45.00 just to look at it).

I was hoping that someone on here may have experienced the same issues, where the batter will die if you sit there with the radio on for 10 minutes, or the doors open for 10 minutes and still have the battery start just fine if it's shut off and in the garage for any extended period.

But I do appreciate the heads up on looking around, I have been, and am more than appreciative if someone could point me in the right directions of a similar post that maybe I'm missing.

Mine had that exact problem, ended up putting an Optima Yellowtop in it. It was a good choice!

That's probably what I'm going to end up doing. I like exides version of the "yellowtop". I can get them a little cheaper and they're just as good in my minds.

I suggest spending the 45 bucks and have the dealer look at it, I had the exact same problem, went to one dealer and they replaced the battery, problem continued, went to another dealer and they pulled up the TSB and took care of the problem, that was about 2 years ago when the truck was new, no battery problems since then...

I have this problem on my 2008. The dealer can't seem to find the fix. The truck is covered by GMPP. Can someone please direct me to the TSB? My dealer told me tonight that he is ordering a new Radio / Nav unit because the current one doesn't always turn off when the key is pulled and the door opens. He says this is the problem but I would sure like to read what GM has to say about it!

The radio should stay "off" but won't cut power usage for 10 minutes I think because it's still keeping the nav "fresh" per-say

I have the same problem and the dealer says its normal and to push the interior light over ride button but 10 - 15 minutes seems a little on the weak side if you ask me. 07 Yukon SLT, my old truck (06 Sierra) still original battery and never had a problem like this.

I just brought my truck home from the dealer. Shut off the key, opened the door and the radio still keeps on playing. I manually shut off the radio and got out of the vehicle, closed the door and locked it. All of the dash lights, the lights on the doors and the rear console stayed lite for quite a few minutes. This just aint right. I'm taking it back to the stealer on Monday

So what about the TSB referenced earlier in this thread. Can someone tell me how to find it?

zach2011 or anybody else,
What model of Optima Yellow top did you guys used? I have a 07 Yukon XL non-denali. My battery is gonna leave me stranded because it has been checked and told that one or two cells are going bad. Need info ASAP.

Is this different than RAP? Because after installing my P3100DVD I would occasionally have the same problem, where my stereo wouldn't turn off at all, even when the key was out and the doors were open. I just thought I had a bad OnStar module (GMOS LAN-02)

Interesting.

I had my z110bt installed few months ago and the first module from PAC was defective as soon as the installer plug it in started smoking and smelling like burned plastic. A second was installed and all was great until two months ago. The HU didnt turn back on when I went to start the vehicle and has to be unplugged almost every month because it does that. What I was told that there are just some bad batches of modules out there and I got one so they are going to give me another one for free. The thing is that modules can go bad at any time also.
