So, I take the dog and my son to Costco this weekend - run in to get one item - ~ 20 min total (inc a nasty $1.49 hot dog for the pooch) and I come back out to the car and the car is off. When I left to go into the car I locked car and turned on with car starter so dog was in AC. I thought maybe someone else had my frequency, or maybe I brainfarted and did not let the engine actually turn over.

40 min later I do one more errand however somewhere else, make sure the engine starts, run in, again 20 min, and come back out and the engine off again...

Luckily the car was cool, again, but is there an auto shut off after 10-15 min?

I understand that it cuts off after 10 min. After that you can extend it by another 10 min by doing the same key presses. The problem is that it only add 10 min to however long it has been to the first start. For example it its been on 3 min and you extend it, it only last 13 min total. It has to be started by the key then.

Yeah, I think its only 10 mins or so. Even most aftermarket remote start will run at 15 or 20 minutes at the most. Mine (Autopage) will run for 20 mins. And on the screen on my remote is a countdown timer telling me how many minutes I have left before it will shut off. When it does shut off, the remote will beep 3 times, and then I can rstart it if I want to.

depending on where you are leaving your car running, you could always just leave the key in the ignition and take the fob off use to lock/unlock. That is what I do. I would not suggest this in a high crime area as I just saw that the cadi escalade is most stolen vehicle, and we are not far behind... :)

It states in the manual that it only runs for 10 minutes. If it's as hot where you are as it has been in PA lately, I'd say you dodged a bullet by not looking into this BEFORE leaving your dog in there.

(...And it's good that you only left it for 20 minutes, and with half of that time being AC'ed.)

I knew I'd be quick but I did feel like $hit - I'm closer to my bullmastiff than I am to most of my family (except the wife and son of course) and I am in South Florida - just an average summer for us here - you guys are having unusual heat - we call it usual heat.

You're right - I should have checked the manual - bad dog owning on my part...

A Bullmastiff?! Well, at very least, if he got too hot he could have probably chewed his way out through the roof! Haha!

I'm sure you're a good dog owner. And I don't mean to dump on you. Could happen to anyone. I'm just glad that it wasn't a costly, sad oversight, you know?
