I'm looking to get more noise out of my 2015 5.3 but not sure exactly what to go with. Straight pipe is too loud and just removing the rear resonator will be too quiet I'm afraid. If I just go with a muffler delete I'd like to do it myself. Which leads me to my next question. Are there any "drop in" muffler delete pipes out there that fit the tahoe and remove the flapper valve? Most I've seen are for silverado (not sure if exhaust is the exact same) or they don't remove the flapper valve.

not looking to spend a ton so borla and corsa full bolt on systems are out of question

I was thinking either:
Muffler delete
third cat + muffler delete keep rear resonator
Resonator and muffler delete replace with flowmaster flowfx or similar

Whatever I go with I will also be installing a side exit dual tip.

Check with Summit Racing for a muffler delete pipe.

There are Borla and FlowMaster knockoffs out there that are significantly cheaper than the brand name.

I went with a Gibson Extreme system, as I do want a loud exhaust.

look at getting a Magnaflow muffler, then you can decide if you want to keep resonator or not

the flapper is for the AFM/4cyl mode, i'd either tune that out or get the OBDII module to stop it & then remove the flap

I may just remove muffler and 3rd cat and see how that is before I buy a new muffler.

Also I keep it in M5 so it does not go into 6th and is v8 all the time. So that means that flapper is always open in my case?

the ones on summit fit the silverado but not sure if they fit the tahoe as I'm not sure how similar the piping is between the two

Get on the phone and talk to them. If they don't carry one, they probably know who does. If not, a local exhaust repair shop could fabricate one for you in a heartbeat.
