Bad ass! You doing the work?
Curious, though- where are you located?
Yes albeit slowly. Like glacier movement slow.
I live outside San Antonio, Texas.

And 10 hours of that is just Texas. lolI told him to go get it. lol
I forget where he is in Kansas, but it's at least 11 hours regardless. Thanks for the offer just the same!
Sometimes you have to check different years, they are not always thorough but I looked and did not see it listed. Not directly. I just saw what RA had listed. Looking at @Fless's screenshot... that's odd that their own site wouldn't list anything.
And now I can't find it on RA again.
Late to the game here. And it has been a few years, but when my dad was looking to modify the exhaust on his 02 6.0 HD we found that (for the 02 anyway) everything was the same between the 8.1 and 6.0 for the most part. The Y pipe was the same even EXCEPT for it seemed to be chopped 6 to 8 inches from where the flanges would be and smaller 2.25 or 2.5 in pipe ran from the manifolds to the larger pipe of the "y". Im fairly certain they used all the same exhaust to make it cheaper. And that's all of what he still has. Something else to note is that if the exhaust forward of the muffler will support an 8.1, then it's plenty sufficient for even a warmed-over 6.0.
...Im fairly certain they used all the same exhaust to make it cheaper.
Although it's an 8.1, I'm sure it doesn't breathe as efficiently as the LS platform so maybe it doesn't need as much pipe volume as an 8.1 liter LS would need.
It kind of is an LS motor. The intake ports are cathedral port. If I’m not mistaken the crank and cam sensor outputs are the same as the LS, 24X and 1X respectively.
Check out Raylar Engineering if he needs day dream material.
I used a dual in and dual out flowmaster muffler on mine. The single outlet on OE system is a real restriction.
It was completely redesigned. Like the LS motors very little can be used from the previous gen motor.from what i remembered the 496 was a stroked 454 with better flowing heads and a better injection system.
I spent a lot of time looking at replacement exhaust candidates for my 2010 Yukon 2500 - and ended up just going to a local custom exhaust shop and having them do a replacement exhaust from the cat-back. I couldn't verify for 100% sure that any of the aftermarket stuff was going to fit (it really wasn't clear from reading online) , the factory stuff was mucho $$$ , and I also really wanted to have the tailpipe exhaust in a certain location - so that it would clear the rear spring shackle with enough space so that I could install some Sulastic shackles back there.
The muffler shop only charged like $650 , which was in the range of $300 - $450 cheaper than any of the other options I looked at.
I can't testify as to whether there's any good custom exhaust shops in your area - but it's an option I would definitely look into. I was hesistant at first - but the exhaust has worked out really well so far - and I didn't have to crawl under the truck to do it.
I think some of the gen 6 stuff like cams can be used with no to little problems. And headers too. Richard Holdener just did a series on the 8100... torque monster if you get around the GM nanny programs. Oh and like almost 900lbft at 8 or 9 psi lol.It was completely redesigned. Like the LS motors very little can be used from the previous gen motor.
