My 2021 Tahoe 29000 miles, has been at the dealership for 3 weeks awaiting a backordered part. The check engine light came on, as well as the service emissions message. Diagnosis was high resistance reading on the exhaust gas recicirculation cooler temp sensor and the part is on backorder with no expected availability date. I read in another post that something similar happened and a software update seemed to solve the problem. Has anyone had similar issues?

I had a potential backorder on EGT3 and grabbed an OEM one from stock at Rock Auto just in case. The dealer managed to get one. So look up the part number on Rock Auto and if they have it, ask the dealer if you should have it shipped to them.

Also, find out if the sensor issue will actually leave you stranded. EGT3 pretty much doesn't. And have them check the harness. I think I had a bad EGT3, then damage to the harness that recreated the fault, but it is possible it was always a harness issue.
