EOTWAWKI - End of The World as we Know it

I'm gonna make this thread not because I'm a paranoid redneck creep that thinks the worlds gonna end but... My truck thinks that the world might end tomorrow... So in this thread let us purely post about modifications and ideas done to our tahoes/blazers/yukons/whatever you got. Also since this is EOTWAWKI you can post your Bug out Bags you keep in your suv.

Somebody start things off.

Good Luck

I keep a sleeping bag, food, water, all the camping gear I need without a tent(only a tarp) and all fluids for my truck, chains for all fours. I would need to throw some more stuff in there if I knew I was gonna be gone for while. Guns, ammo, extra food, etc. Not over the top, just enough to fill my extra space. I want a small lift and a foor basket to add to all this, maybe some lights up top too

Hey somebody make me a list of must haves to keep in my tahoe. At the moment I have a bunch of change, few burger king coupons, some napkins, and subs in the back not even hooked up lol.

Nice. Sorry for the lag in my response. You know I have to get in on this one...

I have two rubbermaid bins and a backpack in the back. One bin is for my survival, the other is for the truck's survival.

The backpack is an ATLS kit minus drugs and O2. But I have suction, and fluid therapy.

In my survival kit I have food for a week, a Katadyn Exstream water filter, a 12" heavy knife, 100' of 550 cord, 10'x12' tarp, a magnesium/flint block, a couple carabiners, an expensive LED flashlight, a small shovel, and some other stuff I'm forgetting. My wife's trooper has a very similar box, but she's particular about certain things.

In my truck's survival kit, I have a full socket set, metric and standard end wrenches, jumper cables, a small compressor, dirty clothes and a work jacket (I've been stranded so many times by this thing, it is paying off to just keep my oil stained clothes in it now), a u-joint, a serpentine belt, a gallon of coolant, a quart of gear oil, some old brake fluid I should throw away, some WD40, a come-a-long, and a rechargable worklight.

I also have a pair of chains, a jack, a jack stand, a chainsaw, a 5-gallon gas can, a 1-gallon mix can, and a partridge in a pear tree. I'm not allowed to bring weapons on microsoft property, so the guns stay at home, but I've got an SA TRP Operator 1911, a heavily modified Mossberg 590, and a G26. With enough ammo to repress the zombie insurgency. Rangers Lead the Way!!!!

I have a pair of flip flops, a towel and my beach shorts.

I should get a first aid/hazard kit and a mechanic's tool set, at least.

Are you kidding me? That's a bad little gun, but do you seriously carry that with you in your truck? Pretty sure if a cop found that you'd be in for a rough time, maybe even have it confiscated. I can't see that being legal to drive around with but I could be wrong.

It is legal to carry a gun in your rig, in most states. Check your local laws. Your results may vary. My Canadian friends, you're screwed. :)

Nothing wrong with carrying a gun in your truck. Some states say you cant have a round chambered. A cop wont take it and most likely wont hassle you so your good!

Maybe you guys are rushing things a bit.

The Mayan Calendar for the end of the world shows

December 21, 2112 as the magic day.

Personally I would make a stand at home rather than taking a vehicle that gets 8 miles to the gallon for a limited drive to nowhere. :)

the truck isn't complete yet for the pefect sort of EOW rig, but i have till 2012 to finish it right? haha

don't keep much in it other than the tools. socket set, wrench set, screwdrivers, wire strippers, enough loose wire and different connectors to rig just about anything less than a harness fire or something, lighters and matches, the lug key, 1/2 breaker bar and extension, spare bulbs, big ass maglight and rechargeable spotlight, and several other thngs that don't come to mind at the moment.

bail out bag, guns/ammo, water/food, camping items and other items are locked up at the house. i have the same shit guns are not allowed on company property. bag isn't in the truck anyore since little assholes like trying to get in it to steal my stuff.

ravingmadman- how you likin the water filter? been needing to pick one up, but never decided on one.

Ok so EOW thread.....I get it now. I would stock up on a bunch of liquor and diet coke to be perfectly honest. I'm not saying I'd get plowed 24x7, but I would definitely be good and buzzed 24x7.

If a RX was close enough (given the EOW situational issues like nuclear fallout etc) I'd head over there too. I know what I'm looking for so ask me to help YOU pick from the litter.

That's a no ******** answer I guess.

Nice I'm lovin the thread. Keep up the good work! When I posted the thread as "EOTWAWKI" I don't think the world is going to end. I concentrate on natural or man made disasters. I live in South Florida, a place frequent to sometimes fatal hurricanes certainly since I live in a house on the gulf. Where I live there is only one main road to the interstate we have had to evacuate once before and it becomes a really fricken mess. Also lets say theres a disaster somewhere else, IE: Katrina Hurricane I would be able to go and help in the disaster area without hesitation. Now what if say there is a civil unrest IE: people get really pissed off at the Govt. and we have general havic and anarchy everywhere and I want to go off somewhere in the mountains. OR if there was to be an invasion on US soil by an opposing army without the use of Strategic Nuclear weapons / Biological / Chemical weapons, I might have a chance to get out of dodge and find a place to ride it out and raise the flag.
