i know in my '99 yukon if i get much under a 1/4 tank it'll start dying at stop lights/signs and stuff. it'll start back up, but it's time for me to get to a gas station. i'd try to keep it above a 1/4 tank and see if the problems go away or if it still does it. i've found my gas gauge a decent "suggestion" but not necessarily the absolute truth about how much gas i have. go for the easy fix and just keep more gas in it and see if that helps first.

Add me to the fuel pump camp. Just because you have pressure, doesn't mean it's enough pressure. :) I did the write-up, PM me if you have any questions when you do it, it goes directly into my email, which goes directly into my droid. Have fun!!!

Mine did the same exact thing a few weeks ago.
I replaced my fuel pump about a year and a half. The new has always had a loud whine.
Did yours throw a code?
Mine threw P0452 = evap emissions control system pressure sensor.

What fuel pumps are you guys using?

I'd replace the relay first then the pump if that doesn't work. Don't forget to use ACDelco parts, so I'm told.

i'd definitely say the OP's fuel pump is on the way out. get that shit replaced asap. and ya, they whine like hell when on the way out.
and with the new pump, just to make it last long, don't let your gas drop below 1/4th, just cuz it's the gas that keeps the pump in shape :)
