The first photo shows 95'-99', second photo shows first yr on NBS (00'-01') with black strip w/tahoe badge seemingly carried over from previous gen,... then in 03' Ive seen NO side badge till I think 07' when they started putting them back on the doors.View attachment 199189 [

QUOTE="myoffroadz71, post: 1237053, member: 67934"]What I meant to say was....

There should NOT be ANY Tahoe badging on the two front doors (the GMC Yukon says Denali on the doors but says Yukon on the back deck lid)on a “TRUE Z”!!!!

Yes,... this has been my experience....the Tahoe badge was combined with the black ribbed molding back in the first two years, carried over from the 90's,... some 99' NBS's ,.00', and 01.[/QUOTE]

That 2nd photo is a 2000 OBS. No badges 01-04. They started putting the TAHOE back on the Z71 rear liftgate in 05.

I’m new on here...!!!!

So could you show me how to get to that thread!!!!

I haven't written it yet. Lol. There is one over on the z71 forum, but all the links are old and the info is scarce. There is something very brief on here somewhere I think. I will get to the write up when I do my build thread one of these days.... :emotions122:

PM any questions you have and I will try to help.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the 00-02 emblems vs the 98-99 emblems for the Tahoe? The physical appearance is very similar as far as I can tell. I am thinking of buying the 00 emblems to put on my restored 98 since the old style ones are unobtainium and mine are beat up.

Thanks

They all came with them . He might of had the dealership take them off day of sale. It's a common request

Would the dealer remove them before it was requested by a customer? My 02 Z71 (My parents bought new when I was 12) has never had any badging that says tahoe. I remember the first night it was in the grarage, my dad and I were talking about how weird it was that it didn't actually say Tahoe anywhere on it, only the Z71 badge on the sides and rear.

Not any dealer I worked at. Was always a customer request. But I don't recall seeing a Tahoe without badges. But I'm in Alaska and we always do stuff backwards
