Has anyone used the electric water pump on the 5.3 L. The idea from switching over is the same idea as using the electric fan. If anyone has, did you notice any improvement in horsepower? Thanks for your feedback.

I was just looking at one $800! and only 3000 hours life expectancy, so in my case that's about 4 years, not sure if that's really worth the supposed gain and/or how well they really hold up.

just my opinion but it isnt worth trying to entice single digit or low double digit HP out of the 4.8/5.3, There is no doubt they are both to small for their intended purpose. Ill probably get my tail kicked for that opinion but the tahoe we traded in on the denali 6.2 was the 4.8 although reliable it was absolutely gutless with non existent torque below 3k rpm. just bite the bullet and get yourself a different vehicle with the 6.2.

life expectancy of the electric water pumps is too low for me to consider for a dd or even a casual use vehicle.

The benefit of the electric water pump isn't for the couple extra horsepower you free up its to be able to cool off the engine better between runs by running the fan and coolant through the motor while it is off
