So I know this has to have been covered but I am having trouble finding a ton of info on the interweb. I have a 2006 z71 Hoe 4WD with a 4" Rough Country NTD lift. (Silverado front kit with rear blocks). I need to change the oil pan gasket because my dumb a$$ didn't do it when I had everything apart and the front dif out. Can anyone please tell me now that I made this job 10 times harder to do, what the easiest way to do this is? Has anyone had to do this after lifting their truck and if so how was it for you? I'm anticipating the worst. Thank you

Drop the front diff, let it hang, that will give you enough room. I just did this job on a 2002 silverado HD.

You have an NTD lift kit? It almost looks like I will have to remove this whole front crossmember where the lower control arms and the back of the front dif bolt to.

When I did my Tahoe I had to drop the front and rear crossmember to get the pan out. I left the control arms and everything hooked up and just dropped the whole front and rear crossmember as a whole setup did the pan then just jacked the crossmember back up and 4 bolts back into place and I’m done.
You will need to remove the diff also and in my 07-14 I had to let my steering rack hang to get the front bolts out

Thank you. What lift do you have and are you talking about on a GMT800? I'm obviously going to have to unload my torsion bars to drop the crossmember.

Mine is a 07-13 with a fabtech lift
My buddy had the 2002 with a rough country lift and had to do the same thing
Ok Thanks....so unload the torsion bars and drop the whole crossmember and dif. Damnit....I should have done this when I put the lift in but I was pressed for time. I may swap from a 4" to a 6" so that would probably be the time to do it.

If it’s the rough country 6” lift then it’s nothing but a 4” lift with 2” keys if I’m not mistaken I wouldn’t waste your time unless you swap to a true 6-7” like mcgaughys fts super lift etc
