Dont expect to notice any difference in HP or MPG from a drop in. It will last forever though and the K&N's are eassy to clean.

I know there's a regualr air filter box and a high capacity air box. What's the difference?

I've just installed a Green filter in my 08 Tahoe Hybrid. Not done enough mileage yet to see if its improved mpg, but it does feel a little more responsive.
The replacement was a little tricky as GM have put a huge mess of wiring into the Hybrid unit right above one of the screws holding down the top of the air filter box. But with careful jiggling of screws you can open the box far enough to get the OEM filter out and the new one in.
