Dr. Color Chip

Ordered some dr. color chip because i have a HUGE key mark from an unknown source (ehem, x-girlfriend), and decided to try the $60 route instead of the $1000 from a body shop. Now its obviously not going to be perfect or completely filled in but it will look a hell of a lot better than nothing!

And as said before its not perfect but a lot better! ill probably give it a couple washed and a couple weeks then do it again, then same steps 3 more times.

I have always noticed that key mark on pics of your Tahoe, the end results will be wayy better than that long scratch.

Ouch Brent. That one hurts to look at. How is it $1K from a body shop? You can buy a whole new door for that. That ones looks like it might take a shop to paint dude. Good luck

Well its $1k because its not just the pass door, its also the back pass door and the front fender! but i think the dr. color chip did a great job for the price. Yeah i would love for it to be repainted but right now its out of the budget. I would rather spend on other goodies

I'll second those results.. been using Dr. Colorchip for about 5 years on several different vehicles I have purchased and it is a very reliable way to improve chips.

For Scratches, Google QUIXX Repair System. That system combined with the Dr. Colorchip Filler would help Wet Sand then Polish the Scratch Away!!

It's only about 18 bucks from Advanced Auto Parts.

There would have to be payback over that. Either calling the cops or something. Unless you feel guilty about something. Then it is what it is.

I did talk to the cops! haha im not for certain it was her, but its more than likely the best educated guess!

Story:

(I didnt notice scratch for a couple days bc it was on the pass side and dont really see that side often)

Sat night: park outside of new girlfriends apt (located on campus), stayed night into Sunday.

Sunday: didnt notice a thing and went to a soccer game, came home went to bed.

Monday: blah blah more blah, gym and BAM! i see it. Pissed i tried to still work out, no dice. I drove around to local body shops getting quotes (AVG $1000)

The only time the car was out in public was new gf apt (night) and soccer game. I head to campus police because i notice several video cameras where my car was parked at my gf's. They say "yeah we'll take a look." Call them back a couple weeks later, and turns out that since there is so much footage that the servers can only hold two weeks of action then it starts to erase! WTF man! so all in all i really have no clue (but a good idea) and no tapes, which should have been there!

So i see the Dr. Color Chip ad, and say "what the hey" ill try it out. Looks better and im sure ill eventually get it completely fixed.


Marc - I think ill give that QUIXX stuff a try as well! wouldnt hurt! haha
