Yeah man. You gotta stay on top of it on the forums. Wish you would have asked before spending that money. I noticed when. I lowered ours last week that the dricers side strut was slightly (moist) lol. Once it gets bad enough I'll swap em out

Is there a thread about this and the parts you can order? My thought that there wasn’t any fixes out there yet!

Thank you ! so which option did you end up going with on your vehicle?
I didn't do anything but lower ours. I rides much better after lowering. But I did notice the driver's strut was a little damp when lowering it. I'll just keep an eye out for it.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky so far, but I have a 2017 Esky ESV with 22 inch wheels and love how smooth it drives. It’s a smooth ride at any speed over pretty much all road surfaces, from minor road imperfections to large ones. MRC seems to capture the right inputs and provide instant and correct changes to the suspension, for a nice comfortable ride. The Escalade has 3 adjustable setting for MRC: Touring (normal), Sport, and Snow/Ice. I use Touring almost all the time. If I switch to Sport, THEN I can few all the road imperfections and it feels like a sports car going over bumps, pretty rough but connected to the road (not connected like a BMW, but as best a huge truck can be).

I know the Denali does not have configurable MRC, it’s just one setting all the time. I’m wondering if that Denali MRC setting is the equivalent to “Sport” mode on the Escalade? If so, then can you Denali owners solve the MRC rough ride problem with some kind of tune or reprogramming of you’re MRC to match the Touring/normal mode on the Escalade??

before deleting your suspension try extending the ride height sensor rode an trick the PC to think it is higher then stock and releases some air from the bags. I had a complete 180 is feeling when this was done to my 18 Suburban Premier. I felt my rear was stiff before and now I can feel a bounce which i never felt before.

So as an update the adjustment that was made to my vehicle did improve the bounce feeling but it is still stiff and I still have a flutter/oscillating feeling from the from suspension so although better I still am thinking about deleting the MRC suspension, maybe start with the front and see how it performs

Hey guys, I want to get some feedback from anyone that have their magnetic ride control removed. Recently I found out my front shock are out on my 2016 Yukon Denali. I was quoted by the dealer that it will be close to 2K to replace them. I can bring it to a local mechanic to get them replace and save about $800. But I still don’t believe it is worth it. Im seriously thinking about buying the suspension / shock / mag ride delete kit from Norcal to completely replace all my suspension and magnetic ride. Before I go down this route can anyone let me know how was your ride quality with MRC removed?

2015 Tahoe LTZ (2WD) Factory 22" wheels.

On a level section of concrete I measured the current front and rear ride height, see attached pictures.

Setup:
Xineering Full Bypass kit
Monroe 139104 struts in the front
Monroe 911506 in the rear with the air circuit plugged.

Ride Heights:
Stock
Front 35.50" Rear 38.00"
Monroe
Front 37.25" Rear 37.50"

Diff: Front +1.75" Rear -0.50"
Disclaimer FWIW

STOCK measurement was when we bought the truck with 82,000 miles on it with 4 blown magneride shocks. I believe the fronts were missing A LOT of fluid. They rode horribly and leaked a few drops every night.

Monroe 139104 strut assembly up front on factory 22" wheels.

The install was SUPER easy, fit was perfect.
Install Tip: Loosen (don't remove) the lower control arm swaybar link. 15mm bolt and nut.
It will give you some extra play to get the old strut assembly out and the new one in.

They ride perfect! I really like them, more importantly my wife really likes them.
The vehicle is very compliant and I don't have one bad thing to say about them.
I have a few thousand miles on them, highway/road way driving including a 300 mile round trip to pick up a 16' utility trailer with two 3500# axles. Again it was a very smooth ride.

Let me know if you have any questions.
I'll check in every now and then.

Thanks,
Max

The Monroe parts numbers you listed don't fit a 2016 Yukon XL Denali from what I can find. Is this right? A well-known shop near me also suggested an Icon set up, which I'm looking, but will be at least $3k+.

According to the Monroe E-Catalog the 139104 Struts fit 2016 Yukon XL.
They are about $115 each on Amazon.

Thanks Max. As far as you know, this and an Icon/Fox/King set up are the only options if looking to replace MRC, right? Just want to consider all options and weigh the pros/cons before pulling the trigger.

@G00se Yes, another option is the Rancho RS999901 Quick Lift Loaded Strut, but it is a bit rough for daily driving.
Even though it has "9-position tuning technology - Easily adjust ride quality and performance" I couldn't find one that was compliant enough for street duty.
It was either too stiff or too bouncy.

@TheEngineer - okay, would AC Delco’s work too? If so, between that and Monroe, I’m guessing you’d recommend Monroe?

@G00se Go with a fully assembled strut, like the Monroe.
I'm not aware of any fully assembled AC Delco units, it would be great if they had them.
I think a lot of people would go with them, for example if you could buy the fully assembled unit from an LT or LS, or non Denali Yukon.

The AC Delcos shock cores will not work (shaft diameter differences) unless you also buy the appropriate upper strut body mount and other hardware needed.
We are still doing the research to supply a full hardware kit that will allow you to swap out a magneride with a non-magneride AC Delco strut core.

May be too much of a tangent, but more info can't hurt.

This picture shows the differences in the diameters of the shock body shaft via the shoulder washer that sits under the upper mount.
11548570 can be purchased from GM Parts (magneride shoulder washer)
The nonmagnetic AC Delco struts (EX: 540-1666) come with this washer, but you will need the correct upper mount.
We would like to purchase this washer separately and put in our kit for people wanting to run Bilstein 5100 cores, etc.

Thanks for that Max, it's clear now what the current options are. The Bilstein 5100 cores would be interesting.

Is it possible to have 1-2" spacers with the Monroe full assembled struts on all 4 corners?
