My 07 Denali XL with the 6.2L, after the installed mods, gets 11-12 mpg in the city with a reasonable foot to the gas pedal (10-11 mpg with a more aggressive foot to the gas pedal), and 15-16 mpg on the highway. I use 93 octane gasoline.

Go get a hybrid 6.0L getting fantastic numbers.. on my last highway trip it was 45 MPG on the 6.0L driving @ 55-60mph.... I MADE the electric do all the work. while it was idling in v4 mode most of the time That E-Assist can really boost the numbers quite a bit since figuring out how to "manipulate the e-assist."..
158 Miles only required 3.5 gallons of fuel Yes I pumped the gas COLD (40°F outside)... so the fuel vapors condensed..

number break down
0.558 gallon on the down hill side
2.944 gallon on the uphill side it's expecting as the engine will do more work to overcome the hill so more fuel is going from pretty much sea level to 4,000 ft then to 2200 ft
________________________
3.502 gallon total used 158 miles..

I mean if you hate the MPG go get a Prius or Volt or hykon/hyhoe/hycalade

Who drives 55-60 on the interstate? I can’t do it unless the weather is crappy. I’m at least speed limit plus 8.

well on packed freeways you will not be going more then 4 or 5 MPH (that is a joke around here at lest on the I-405)

traffic is getting worse here in LA normally the FREE flowing freeway on the weekends is no more...

yeah that used to be a thing... no traffic weekends

between 12 and 3:59am is when there is no traffic now every other hour is rush hour from 4am to 11:59pm...

that gap will probably close soon as things change.... overtime
when there is 24 hour rush hour...

might as well take advantage
and hypermile or ultra-mile it..

anyways every time I save money on gas it will turn into profit ..

I all ready have $190 I saved on gas.. since I had it. that will go towards maintenance.. or even a brand new replacement battery..... for every 10 miles I save a dollar on operating costs

in the city the traffic lights are Highly predictable better then getting stuck at each light anyways

To be honest, I could not care less about the gas mileage on my truck. It is my second, or fun vehicle, and I admit that this is a huge difference in how I view gas mileage. If I want to save gas or money, I'll just leave my truck at home, and fire up my Honda Fit.

If the road is open in front of me, then I drive like there is no tomorrow. I am courteous, respectful, and cautious of other folks on the road and their safety (no weaving across lines or gross tailgating or headlight flashing), but otherwise, it is just me and my truck against the road.

I bought and modified this truck to be loud and fast (not nearly as fast as other folks and their mods on this Forum, of course) and purely for my fun, reminding me of the glory days of muscle cars and the sounds of revving motors and burning tire rubber. Reliving my childhood? Absolutely (though not quite so stupid)!!

Just my 2 cents worth.....

Hey Brent, have you run E30 or any Flex Fuel through it yet? Surprised myself and calculated that running E85 has saved us over $400 for the last 5,000 miles.

non flex version :( the nearest flex station is 30 miles round trip anyways..

my operating costs are great between the maintenance, fuel etc,,, i spent 0.26¢ per mile around town on my old car between maintenance and fuel. over the 50,000 miles i had it. buying fluids because of leaks... that car I had was a lemon..\

I never changed the oil in it because it was always clean as i was always putting fresh oil. i put almost 50,000 miles on it..

JB weld the almost everything in the engine bay to help stop/slow leaks (it actually did a better job as the replacement parts failed with in 2 years and i spend $12-15,000 total over the whole time I had it)

it had a very dangerous fault with it anyways the ignition had an issue where you can start it with anything that could fit in it.. you were also able to pull the key with out putting it in park.
and able to shift out of park without the key.. that means if a kid was messing with the they could shift out of park.. etc..and crash it or start it etc..

that GM recall for the faulty ignition was nothing but an actual band aid... and not fix the actual issue with it..

I got the SUV as a gift so my initial costs was just the insurance for 200$, spare tire and fuel costs so i'm only about $400 in the hole with this one.. at the moment..
I was given 15k to buy one from my mom (I was spouse to get a silverado but my uncle got greedy and stole it from the estate )
even though I worked very hard 12 hour days taking care of my grandpa for 9 months straight. so my mom gave me 15k out of her share to buy what ever I wanted.

I worked very hard and he wanted me to have it.
I have about 1900 left over from it for repairs or upgrades/ minor fixes

still waiting on the title, this damn dealership is starting to piss me off , they still have not even done the paper work even though I bought right out.. i only have a 60 day temp registration and the tags expired in Jan

i might have to make them take it back and refund me
because i have a lot of work to do such as replacement of the headlights and fender to make it look nice again and a few minor details fixed...

I really Want to find out who the original owner was . It was a movie star or rich person since it Originally titled in Beverly Hills,CA 90210 ... back in 2009

if it was a really famous persons it can be worth a pretty penny one day...

like tupac BMW and Notorious B.I.G.'s GMC Suburban which sold for millions

You may want to read this before you give yourself frostbite trying to buy cold gas

Did you check the nav unit's history? How about getting copies of service records from dealership?

There's also a feature to drop crumbs as you drive, not sure how long they stay in memory or how to get them out though.

All that of course assumes you have a nav unit!
