It was really hot today so I decided to debadge the 'Hoe.

The 'hoe had been in the sun all morning so the tape was soft/loose. I used the corner of an old credit card to pull up on the edge of the letters and then just pulled them off.

I used Turtle Wax label remover to get rid of the tape that was left.

It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Just spray on, wait 2-3 mins, wipe off. I didn't have to use any more pressure than I would on a stubborn stain while washing it. Took 4-5 applications per letter. About an hour later, both sides looked like this:

Now this is a 2007 Tahoe, so I have a lil ghosting if I get the angle just right:

What's the best way to get rid of this?

Overall I'm really pleased with the way it looks and plan on doing the back and taking off the side moldings as well.

Thanks!

I removed my emblems off of my black 07 about a year ago and it did have some ghosting like that. I just did a full detail with my PC7424 polisher and I can't see the outlines anymore. I'm not sure if you could get that out by just hand polishing though.

I am so tempted to do this modification. The clean look is something to admire.

It was really easy and I'm really impressed with how it turned out. I'm going to remove the moldings too and hopefully be able to polish out the ghost image.

Im still on the fence about taking off the moldings. I hate the molding on my 2010 Tahoe so I guess I could always pull them off and put something else on if I don't like it without the molding. Decisions decisions..

I definitely think it looks better with the moldings off but my only hang up is that it's my wife's truck and I'm worried about door dings. I don't have any on my 04.

My wife doesn't get door dings, she gets door dents. I try to park as far away from my wife as possible in the driveway...
