Coolant temp

Have 97 Tahoe. 145000 miles. Have changed out hoses, coolant temp sensors, thermostat, radiator cap and water pump. It gest to operating temperature then drops down to 140 to 170.
Any idea why?

Brain fart! Didn't think of air in the system.
Thanx for reminding me of simple maintenance procedures.
Will post on the fix.
