Today, I replaced the oil pan gasket on my 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2WD (5.3L). The gasket replacement itself went smoothly with no apparent issues during reassembly. After completing the work, I let the engine idle for about 15 minutes, then drove the truck around the block and parked it.
Roughly two hours later, while checking the oil level, I noticed fluid dripping from underneath the vehicle. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be coolant, visibly dripping from the passenger side at the rear of the oil pan area.
I did not disturb or service any part of the cooling system during the oil pan gasket replacement. Additionally, there was no coolant spot in the driveway where the repair was made.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation, or have any ideas about what could have caused this? I’m trying to determine whether it’s related to the repair or a separate issue that surfaced coincidentally.
