Hello everyone
Every time I drive my Tahoe, I get that error “Collision System Unavailable” front radar disabled, and the feature stops working, but in a minute it gets back to working fine.
What would be the reason behind that?
And where is even that radar is located?
Is it something too technical? Or it might be dirty!
Some people are saying its located just behind the grille, I looked there, there is nothing, others saying its in the front wind shield (behind the mirror)

Please Help

I don't have the knowledge on your year truck to assist you, but this is what Dr. Google says:

A "Collision System Unavailable" warning on a GMC typically means the front-facing camera or radar is obstructed by dirt, ice, or extreme weather. It can also be triggered by a minor software glitch, a weak 12-volt battery, or a misaligned sensor after front-end work.

How to Fix the Warning
Follow these steps to diagnose and clear the alert:
  1. Clean the Sensors: Check the GMC camera and radar system. Wipe off the upper windshield (near the rearview mirror) where the forward camera sits, and clean your front grille and GMC emblem, as the radar is usually hidden behind them.
  2. Check Your Settings: Ensure your Forward Collision Alert or Automatic Emergency Braking hasn't been accidentally turned off in the Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems menu.
  3. Perform a System Reset: If the sensors are clean, try resetting the system. Turn off your vehicle, open the passenger-side fuse box, locate and pull the fuse responsible for the Driver Assist system (often fuse #11) for 1–2 minutes, then replace it. Alternatively, disconnect the negative terminal on your 12-volt battery for 5 to 10 minutes to clear software glitches.

The forward distance radar sensor in my 2015 is located behind rhe bumper cover. In the winter, frozen slush sometimes builds up and adds enough thickness to generate the same message.

In addition to the cleaning in front of yours, go underneath the bumpers and disconnect the sensor plug and clean the connections well.

On exterior connectors like this, I apply a thin coating of grease to the pins and internal connector housing to inhibit the intrusion of water.

It would be very helpful to put a good bidirectional scanner on it and read all the codes, then post them here. All we can do is guess about what's causing the issue.

For example, some engine misfires can cause other codes to set.

If you don't mean dielectric grease specifically, I would recommend it.

If you do... never mind. ;)
