Range AFM disabled for 2021+, can dealer tell?

I just ordered the range 007 for my 2026 Tahoe 6.2L.


Am going to install it Wednesday.

If I bring this truck to the dealer for warranty work can they tell this is installed? Does it throw any codes that won’t set a light that the dealer can see? I ask because I know for MOPAR any tampering of the ECM will aet
A p1400 code that can void your warranty that can’t be seen or deleted by code readers.

Just want to avoid any problems. I have a high failure prone 6.2 so it is a concern for warranty denial.


Does GM have any type of codes that they scan for to deny warranty claims?

When I had the PICO test done on mine, they had to down load a new cal. It wouldn't go so they investigated and found my module. If you take it to the dealer, I would remove it.
Thanks for that. I’d remove it for sure now before any service.

Remove it before any service work, however, will likely cause Emission Readiness Monitors to not be fully set, so I would probably remove it 3 or 4 days before taking it to the dealer and make sure that you drive the vehicle enough that all the Emission Readiness Monitors are in a pass or set state

although it is probably a good idea to remove it before any WARRANTY work, my dealer could care less if it is something that requires gm approval they would just tell me to remove it before they can authorize the repair with gm.
Only because they have to submit required information to gm in order to get paid, one of those requirements is if it has modifications, modifications being active will result in a decline of the coverage by gm. If it is removed no harm no foul.
However if your dealer is a douche, then remove it every time.
I have been on good terms with my local dealer for over 30 years, family owned business. A far cry from some of the dealers I have read about.....

Turn off software auto updates as well in that 2026. Read the fine print on the Range product website. They recommend removing it for service visits and software updates.
