This '07 Escalade is the first car or truck I've had, in 50 years, without gauges [oil press, temp, volts]. Any thoughts on swapping with Chev or GMC?

Thanks

I don't have anything to swap, Joe, but I was not aware that the Esky would be that different from the Denali. Do you have idiot lights, instead of gauges? Hope you find someone to help you.

Have you checked ebay for the cluster? They have many listings for second-hand parts, many with full warranties. There are quite a few clusters on there now...$125 to $275.

I'm more concerned about the wiring than the physical parts; although I've read that the panel itself is shaped slightly differently.

I've also thought about one of those 'A' pillar gauge mounts; although I don't really like them.

Anyway, thanks. I'm hoping your post will spark more.

I can get a escalade cluster cheap with the related parts but have decided against it as I like the gauges better.

There's talk about Escalade panel into GMC or Chevy, but not so much the other way.

I think we need to blaze a trail here.

If you use your phone with an ODB2 dongle, you can run the Torque app. on your phone, and see the same signals that the dash would see.

You can pop in an 09 Esky cluster and have oil pressure visible in the DIC. I believe in 10 GM added another metric for MPG that reads
instantaneously vs an average reading that goes until reset.

A used cluster does not need a reflash to work but the odometer will be off until you do. This means you can test drive it to see if you like it using eBay’s return policy, if offered.

If you like it, have it reflashed for the milage and enjoy the slightly different design.

What about voltage or water temperature?

I want traditional gauges with sweep needles.

Yea, you’d be into a GMC or Chevy cluster. Call the guys at ISS automotive and see if they have any solutions.

If they do have something that works but no gauge sweep, you can install a BTdieselworks autosync that will do that for you.
