Changing your own oil w/ warranty

I haven't seen anyone on here who said anything like that.

I was just giving examples of how GM could wriggle out of a claim in general.

They could even say that the cause was “customer didn’t properly change oil and it was not filled to capacity specifications, resulting in low oil pressure causing bearing failure” and how would I disprove that?

I’m 80% leaning toward the dealer changes now even though I hate it.

I’ve been changing my own oil in several cars for over 20 years. I do it more often and use better oil and filter the dealer would use. If a manufacturer ever tries to deny warranty coverage they will have a lawsuit on their hands and I wouldn’t let it go until I won coverage and damages.
