Center caps falling out

Has anyone ever lost center caps while driving? I have 20” LTZ wheels. I will note that the wheels are reproductions and not OEM, but I do have OEM GM center caps in them. They look identical to OEM. I’ve had them on for about 9 months, and during that time I’ve lost two center caps, both from the front (one driver and one passenger). Could certainly be due to small differences in my wheels vs the stock wheels, but was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this or found a remedy. The fit isn’t incredibly tight - was thinking I could wrap the center cap posts in electrical tape to tighten the fit.

Not me Jordon but I was thinking the same thing as regards the solution, a layer or two of tape.

You said it, "The fit isn’t incredibly tight". A layer of tape should likely do the trick. Have you called the wheel manufacturer about the problem and if so, what did they say? Does the aftermarket manufacturer info say anything about OEM centers having no problems?

Haven’t spoken with them in a long while but if I recall correctly they said wheels are compatible with both aftermarket and OE centers. For that reason they sell them without the centers.

Are these the small about 3" diameter center caps?

There are 2 different types, ones with short prongs and ones with longer prongs. You have to use the ones that match the groove in the wheel.

No they’re the larger ones - they cover the lug nuts too

No, they do not. I've bought several OE ones, and none do.

I have OEM 22s on my 2015 Yukon. Recently bought replacement center caps with GMC in black on ebay.
I cant get them flush with wheel. Any suggestions?
