I had my aftermarket stereo stolen, but still want to play music. Would one of those Aux Cord Cassette Tapes work for a temporary fix or do i need a stereo for it to work?

I have a 2001 Yukon SLT

I'm not understanding your setup. Your stereo was stolen--what would you plug your aux cable in to?

Unless he still has the stock cassette deck on the bottom of the dash and thinks it might work without the head unit
