Can anyone identify what part this is?

Can anyone tell me what part this is, or if anyone has come across the same problem as i have. I've tried searching for it but can't seem to find any info about it. It is the part the retainer clip for the rear parking brake bolts into. I over tightened the bolt when putting new rear pads and new parking-brake shoes on and broke the head off, so I either have to hope I can remove the thread without destroying the part or just buy a new one and not worry about it.

Thats a brake caliper bracket, also known as a backing plate.

The backing plate is only the flat back piece, and the caliper bracket is the part that goes around the disc. I'm talking about the silver cast-piece that has 4 bolts in it (only 2 are seen in pics)

Ended up being a parking brake bracket though. For some reason that came up with nothing the first time I typed it in. Got parts this time though. Now has anyone else done what I did and overtightened the parking brake shoe bolt and snapped off a head, leaving the threads in the part?

Just drill the broken bolt and use an ez-out. Left handed drill bit might back it out just by drilling.

I did the same thing, broke the same bolt on my Avi.
Ended up popping off a wheel stud to line up a drill and killed a couple drill bits drilling and re-threaded with a new bolt.
After i did the deed i found a friend of mine just drilled a new hole slightly to one side as this bracket is just holding the park brake shoe in place.
Do yourself a favor, get a high quality drill bit!

I ended up ordering a new part and just replacing it. Paid $38 shipped for it! It was a "parking brake anchor" or also called a "backing plate" which I'm assuming the backing plate would be considered a 2 piece backing plate then... but I ran into another issue when replacing this. While trying to pull the axle, I found out my G80 is trashed
