C-Pillar Trim?

Hello Everyone. I've been tracking down a rattle that shows up at about freeway/highway speeds (50+ mph) and think the culprit may be the c-pillar trim as it has a some play at the top of the piece. Are there any tips for removing and reattaching this piece (pic provided for reference)? Are there any plastic tabs that I have to be cautious of breaking?

I'm planning on using double-sided automotive tape to re-secure the trim piece.

You can hear a rattle from THERE when driving at highway speeds? Hmm... I have a rattle sometimes over and behind my left ear somewhere, but I've got to believe it's coming from inside of the vehicle somewhere. I'll have to look into that same piece on my truck, but I can't imagine it's causing my rattle.

But to your question, that piece is essentially riveted on. So yes, I think you'll break something removing it. I'd advise trying to stuff something behind it instead of trying to remove it.

Check into some of the chrome-delete threads to see whether folks removed that piece and replaced it with a black piece. You'll get more info from those threads where folks have removed it.

To be clear, I suspect that may be a source of one (or more) rattles - the other location of interest is the passenger side fender liner. Thanks for the heads up on how it's attached to the body.

Did some more research on this trim piece and I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier - GMC parts diagrams.
Here is the assembly of the rear quarter trim attachments and they use multi-purpose retainers (P/N 11547581)
