I just got this news (and pic) from a friend of mine at GM corporate. It's not announced yet so no public info ... but basically Chevy is to revive all its original names, so this is the result:

k-bigpic.jpg

So now all Tahoes will be the Kingswood Estate ... I suggest you guys get these before they run out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-71-Kin...Parts_Accessories&hash=item5651b268f5&vxp=mtr

I'll post more info as it becomes available. This is supposed to go public in about ten days.

Exciting times ...

Ha, ha, early April Fools joke... right... right?

I'm gonna call April Fools as well... it seems realistic enough to happen but the reality of such a drastic move in terms of potential lost sales/ confusion plus reviving names people would rather not remember (vega, chevette) & WTF is the Yeoman or LUV lol.

Chevette? LUV?

Hahahaha

GM would need another bail out if they actually did this.

I like this marketing strategy, it'll reinvigorate interest in the brand, bring a lot of old school customers back to it, and the younger people get cool names like Chevy Task Force. Give it a chance.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool, I'm just saying they're not going to change the names of things that are pretty much set in stone. I think it would be cool to have an "Estate" in the driveway. Haha

Estate sounds sophisticated. Tahoe doesn't make any sense to be honest.

Plus I thought you were escalading it.

when I think of Estate I think of a station wagon to be honest . Plus If they got rid of the Tahoe name , we couldn't say cool things like This is my HOE
