Break in period for new gears

What is up fella's? Quick question. I will be installing my new gears this weekend, but I need to know what the break in period is. I've done some research, and it kinda goes both ways as to what speeds to keep it under, how long the cool down period should be, how far to drive etc. Any insight would be great!! as well as some advice on the install and which fluid to go with.

I was always told 500 miles, no towing, easy on the throttle. Speed/duration doesn't matter as long as it's not excessive. Just letting the seals/bearings/gears wear in and get to their happy zones.

AS above, then change gear oil.. It will have the break in metal in it. SO change gear oil and drive on
